Transaction Process

Eight stages from introduction to execution

A disciplined sequence protects every party. Specific procedures, documentation and timelines vary by transaction, commodity, instrument and jurisdiction.

  1. Stage 01

    Introduction

An initial, non-confidential outline of the opportunity: parties, commodity or instrument, and general objective.

  2. Stage 02

    Preliminary Qualification

Basic corporate identity, role and authority are established before any substantive discussion of terms or procedure.

  3. Stage 03

    Documentation

Counterparties provide the documentation appropriate to their role and to the specific transaction under review.

  4. Stage 04

    Direct Discussion

A scheduled call, Zoom or Google Meet with the decision-maker or their formally authorised representative.

  5. Stage 05

    Due Diligence

Compliance, corporate and counterparty review proportionate to the size, jurisdiction and nature of the transaction.

  6. Stage 06

    Procedure & Negotiation

Working procedure, commercial terms and responsibilities are discussed and aligned between the parties.

  7. Stage 07

    Contracting

Definitive documentation is prepared and reviewed by each party's own legal and financial advisors.

  8. Stage 08

    Execution

Performance proceeds according to the agreed contract, procedure, inspection and settlement terms.

Procedures Vary

There is no single procedure that applies to every transaction. The sequence above describes how MRD Investment Group approaches engagement generally. The documentation, sequence of steps, inspection arrangements and settlement mechanics applicable to any particular transaction are agreed between the parties and recorded in a definitive written agreement.

Why It Matters

Structure is what separates a transaction from a conversation

Parties that are prepared to identify themselves, evidence their authority and follow a documented process reach execution. Parties that are not, do not.

Next Step

Begin a Qualified Conversation

Serious enquiries are reviewed by MRD Investment Group and progressed to a direct discussion by phone, Zoom, Google Meet or email.
