Gold Transaction Overview
What a credible gold transaction requires
This page is intended to be shared with prospective counterparties. It sets out, in general terms, what MRD Investment Group expects before a gold transaction can be discussed in detail.
Framework
Six areas that determine whether a discussion proceeds
Each area is assessed proportionately. A transaction that cannot satisfy these areas is unlikely to reach documentation, regardless of the size stated.
Buyer Authority
The individual engaging must be the decision-maker or hold clear, documented authority to act for the buying entity. Discussions do not progress through unverified chains of intermediaries.
Documentation
Documentation appropriate to the structure — such as a letter of intent or ICPO — is expected to be consistent with the buyer's stated requirement, capability and destination.
Financial Capability
Evidence of financial capability appropriate to the transaction is expected at the appropriate stage, through an acceptable channel. Capability is verified, not assumed.
Compliance
Corporate, KYC and KYB review is applied proportionately to the transaction, the parties and the jurisdictions involved. Compliance is a precondition, not a formality.
Logistics
Receiving arrangements, transport, security, custody and destination handling are addressed as applicable and agreed between the parties in writing.
Inspection & Assay
Where applicable to the structure, inspection and assay arrangements are agreed in advance, including who appoints, who attends and how results are treated.
Procedures & Confidentiality
Procedures vary. Confidentiality is constant.
There is no single universal procedure in precious metals. Working procedures differ by product form, origin, structure, jurisdiction, receiving facility and the parties involved. Any party presenting one fixed procedure as the industry standard should be treated with caution.
MRD does not disclose supplier, refiner, counterparty or banking relationships, nor proof of product, proof of funds, assays, contracts, logistics detail or operational procedures on a public basis. Sensitive information is released selectively, mutually and only where a counterparty is qualified and the disclosure is warranted.
This page contains no pricing, discount structure, allocation or availability information, and none should be inferred from it.
No Offer, No Guarantee
This overview is general commercial information. It is not an offer, solicitation or guarantee of any product, quantity, price, procedure, timeline or result. All transactions are subject to qualification, compliance review and definitive written agreement.
